Pearls and Pastels

The The Shabby Tea Room are having a Pearls and Pastels challenge this week.  I love the inspiration photo.  I have made a card and a bag to match for my neice's birthday in October.  I thought it would be fun to add a French Quotation to the bag. My neice Ashleigh is learning French at school.  Ashleigh went to Noumea, New Caledonia last week to practice French. The holiday was arranged through her school , so a group of them went. (During the school holidays)  What a holiday!   The quote reads

"Le monde un livre
Don't chaque pas nous
Ouvre une page"

Alphonse de Lamartine

(Translated . "The world is a book, each step opens a page for us")

The Card and bag  were prepared using the following:

Paper:  Bella Rose Dsp Stampin Up.  The Blue Paper at the bottom of the bag is also Stampin Up, but I cannot remember which Dsp pack it comes from.  The blue wallpaper style of paper I have had for a long time. Other pink paper I have also had for a long time.

Ribbon: Pink Ribbon.  Recycled from a headpiece that my daughter wore when she was very little.

Flowers :   From my stash
Brads:        From my stash
Pearls:       Flourish with a bling
Stamp:       A Flower for all seasons  , Stampin Up.

Its almost the end of the School Holidays. I love having the kids home, but I do also love getting back to the normal routine.

Have a great week!!   (What's left of it)

Holidays and a wonderful find.

Well it's school holidays here, and I enjoy the non routine of it all.

We went away for a couple of days to a place called Johanna.  We stayed at the Johanna Seaside Cottages. On the Great Ocean Road. Victoria.    The cottages were wonderful. (Dog friendly too!)

On the way there we stopped for some refuelling. I suddenly spied a second hand store next to us. I quickly told hubby that I would pop in and have a quick look. (As I do) I found the Pitcher and bowl for $3 each!!!  The car was full , so for the rest of the journey (approx 20 mins) I sat with it on my knee.
(It  travelled back home in the suitcase) .

Colour Create

Inspiration Photo
Afternoon,

Well this is definately a Vintage Photo!!  The photo is of me sitting on Santa's lap, when I was approximately five years old.  I was blog hopping (As I do) and I saw the Challenge at Colour Create Challenge blog. The challenge is to create a project using Red, Gold, White or Cream. (With the optional extra of Oriental or Christmas.)

I will also link to  Simon Says stamp hop challenge. Their challenge involves creating a project relating to either, Thanksgiving, Halloween, or Christmas.

The card recipe is as follows:

Paper: Dark Red (Striped)  Deck the Halls  Rusty Pickle.   Deck the Hollies (Spotted) Cosmo Cricket.  Red (Holly) Mitten Weather Cosmo Cricket.  Cream coloured paper from my stash.
Gold Vine.  I purchased it from Lincraft. Sold off the spool.
Gold Flowers.  I have had these for absolutely ever, and have always been annoyed with them. I actually found a good use for them!!

Brads.  From my stash.

Well I really must go...........    I think the dog is up to some mischief....

Bye

The One Stop Craft Challenge #95

We are celebrating Father's day this Sunday. I thought I would link up with The One Stop Craft Challenge Blog.  This week the challenge is to use a sentiment as the main focus of the card.  I actually tried making up my own sentiment for the Father's Day card.  (Basing it around what Hubby likes to do- and what the kids love.)  I don't know whether I have been successful adding my own sentiment.  Only you can be the judge of that...........And of course Hubbby.

Well must be off..... time to pick up children and hunt for the Father's day present.  Maybe a real guitar (see sentiment)
Hmmmm.......
Have a great afternoon

Kelly

For this card I used
Stampin Up! Dsp.
Creative Memories Designer Paper
Baja Blue Stampin Up! Cardstock
Butttons from my stash
Heart Stamp Stampin Up!
Blue ribbon from my stash.

Inkspirations Sketch Challenge # 37

Well here we are the first day of Spring. (In our part of the world)   Today , it has not stoppled drizzling. Oh well!  We need the rain.  Good time to craft.  I have decided to try the Inkspirations # 37 challenge.on
Chantelle's Stampin Space blog.  I have made a thank you card.  The challenge is a sketch challenge and it requires that you include polka dots.

The card was made using Stampin Up! Bella Rose Dsp.  The background paper is Stampin Up! but I am not sure which DSP collection it comes from.  The "Thank You" stamp is one the original Stampin Up! stamps I purchased.

The pink ribbon , burgundy flower and brads are from my stash and the burgundy ribbon is from my wedding materials. (14 yrs old!)

Have a great day
